Run Descriptions
Rusty & Mike’s workouts
Twice weekly running workouts. Generally one track workout and one long/tempo run a week. There are usually 4~5 different speed groups. Do not be intimidated, these are hard workouts but they are tailored to the individual. A 50minute 10K runner will not be lumped in a group with the 38minute runners.
If you want to test the waters show up at a workout and talk to the coaches (Mike or Rusty) and try it. If you like it come back — though subsequent workouts will cost money (SBAA subsidized this over the summer — I don’t know if that will happen again)
Night Groves
A friendly group that runs on Wednesday nights (6:30) to make up for the fact that “Night Moves” is only in the summer. From Leadbetter beach to the bird sanctuary and back.
Night Moves
The summer Wednesday evening (6:35) run/swim (30 April - 27 August 2008). An optional 1K ocean swim (bring your wetsuit), followed by a 5K running race. Starts and ends at Leadbetter beach.
Sunday Morning at Hope Ranch
A casual run every Sunday starting from Viejo Valley school at 8am. There are generally several speed groups each going a different distance — often there is a group doing about 7 or 8 miles.
Sunday Morning at the Beach
Another casual run every Sunday, starting at Shoreline Cafe (near Leadbetter), also at 8am. Again there are several pace groups and several distances. Usually there will be people doing about 10miles. But some will do 6 and others might do 15. It depends on people’s training schedules.
Hash House Harriers
“A drinking club with a running problem.” Erratic runs all over the place, check their schedule for more info.
