Viejo Valley School

On the edge of Hope Ranch,

San Marcos HS parking lot

From 101 take the Turnpike exit and head to the ocean. Turn left onto Holister. Pass the buildings that make up the school. The parking lot in which we meet is on your left. At 6am we’re usually the only people there.

Elwood Mesa

The parking lot across from Elwood School. Take 101 to Storke/Glen Annie, cross over the freeway to Holister, turn right, drive about a mile and a half. The school is on your right, the parking lot on the left.

Mountain Dr.

Meet at the start of Gibralter Rd. Mountain Dr. is marked off every half mile up to the five mile mark (just beyond Hot Springs road). These marks have recently been redone (as of Jan 200 and are quite visible.

Goleta Beach

Meet at the bathroom closest to UCSB. In the middle of the parking lot near that bathroom is a white line with “0″ and “S” written adjacent to it. This marks the Start and 0-mile of the bike path back to Santa Barbara. There are markings every 1/4 mile, and every kilometer. There is also a 2.5K mark. The last kilometer mark is the 5K. After 3 1/4 miles the marks become “P”s and continue out to the four mile mark where there is a “P” with a yellow circle in the middle of the “P”, this mark is often underneath a small red car and is easy to miss. And yes, there really are “P”s used as marks.
